Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mineworker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another.”
According to Malcolm Forbes, “Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.”
Lastly, George Washington Carver said, “Education is the key that unlocks the golden door to freedom.”
If those statements are accurate, then it’s important we know who’s influencing our systems of education.
Willie Jude II, M. ED. is the Vice-Chancellor of Advancement at The University of Wisconsin Parkside. He’s also a husband, the father of 3 daughters, a member of a huge loving family, and a man of conviction, integrity, and depth of character.
Willie is one of the people you want to help steer the future of a university.
And by the end of this episode, I’m betting he’s one of the people you hope to surround yourself with.
